God, I offer myself to Thee to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self that I may better do Thy Will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of Life. May I do Thy Will always.
Oh, that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would always be with me, and that You would keep me from evil.
Thank You for keeping me sober today. Amen.
Yesterday was a great birthday. It was beautiful outside. I had a great lunch with Stephanie. Glad to see she's doing and feeling well. Mom and Ross called to wish me happy birthday, as did Holly, Todd, and Kathy. Kristina and Cindy from Preservation Dallas emailed me. That was very nice to be remembered. Dan and Dan and I had a great time at dinner at Green Papaya. Then we went down and had birthday cake and apple pie and coffee at Crossroads. A good ending to a good day.
Dan my sponsor informed me that he is moving to DC at the end of April or beginning of May. It didn't strike me until mid-dinner that I'll have to find a new sponsor. I first thought of David D, but he has so many sponsees already and that would mean that I would have to join the "cult". Dan suggested Bill S or his sponsor Tom H. I like Bill S as a friend, but he likes to talk too much for me to get a word in edgewise and he's too moody lately. Tom H I don't know very well and haven't very often heard him share. Then Dan suggested Charlie S, and that struck a chord. Perhaps I'll ask him. I don't believe I'll ever find another sponsor like Dan who approaches and reacts to life in the same way I do, but perhaps it's time for me to learn something new from somebody who approaches and reacts to life differently. We'll see.
Dan called after he checked his mail when he got home. He received my card with the massage gift certificate. He said that I had a gift for giving gifts. I'm glad he liked it.
Also, Todd left his friend Rick's cell phone number when he called. This is the interior designer that Todd told me about last fall. He's has started his own business and needs some help with the business/accounting part of it. That got the wheels spinning in my head. Perhaps I could go out on my own again. I finished all the work I could find to do by lunch yesterday and was so bored in the afternoon. I read everything I could find on the GE intranet. I'm so ready to get off this horizontal career path, set my own schedule, and truly be excited about and look forward to work every day. I miss that. Security and calm have their place, but I've been lacking inspiration, creativity, and passion. We'll see how that goes, too.
Well, time to get going. Another day, another dollar. Baby needs new shoes.
