God, I offer myself to Thee to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self that I may better do Thy Will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of Life. May I do Thy Will always.

Oh, that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would always be with me, and that You would keep me from evil.

Thank You for keeping me sober today. Amen.

Life at its noblest leaves mere happiness far behind; and indeed cannnot endure it.... Happiness is not the object of life: life has no object: it is an end in itself; and courage consists in the readiness to sacrifice happiness for an intenser quality of life. -- George Bernard Shaw

I think I'm sick. I don't know what it is, but I haven't felt quite right the past couple of days. Not that I'm every quite right. I hope it's just allergies or something like that. Last night, I came home, weeded and watered the garden, and then went to bed at 7. I rarely do that. I feel better this morning but I hope whatever it is gets out of my system soon.

I found out that I'll be at GE at least another week, and I believe Child Care Group wants me back after that. As long as I get paid, I don't care, although I wish I did care. I wish I had a job that I looked forward to doing every day, where I felt like I contributing something or creating something instead of cleaning up other people's messes. It's like being a financial janitor. Like anything else, I need to begin the process of finding something new to do. We never know what may happen.

I confirmed the reservations for Jennifer's birthday tea at the Arboretum, and then I called her to make plans. She told me that she and Bart had received my sobriety thank you card and that she was very proud of me and the life I'd built. I replied that it definitely wasn't me who has kept me sober, but she reminded me that I had to make the decision to be willing to change. I love Jennifer, and I'm so glad that she's part of our family.

That's all for today. Tonight, I plan to go to the six o'clock and then meet Adeleine from work, her boyfriend John, and friend Bill at After Dark.
