God, I offer myself to Thee to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self that I may better do Thy Will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of Life. May I do Thy Will always.

Oh, that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would always be with me, and that You would keep me from evil.

Thank You for keeping me sober today. Amen.

Is there any religion but this, to know, that, wherever in the wide desert of being, the holy sentiment we cherish has opened into a flower, it blooms for me? If none sees it, I see it; I am aware, if I alone, of the greatness of the fact. Whilst it blooms, I will keep sabbath or holy time, and suspend my gloom, and my folly and jokes. -- Ralph Waldo Emerson, "Character,” Essays, Second Series

Yesterday morning, I again sat on the stoop, drank my coffee, smoked a cigarette or two, watched Mr. Bluebird, and wondered whether or not the sprouts were flowers or weeds. I went by the AutoSpa to get my car washed and saw Ray-Ray working there. I was so glad to see him because I had been wondering about him. He had not been doing well the last few times I saw him or heard about him, but he seemed very well yesterday. He is a good soul.

I went by the grocery store to get a rose for the bathroom vase, some honey, and some Diet Dr. Pepper. Then I came home to get ready and wait for my sister-in-law Jennifer to arrive. We had such a great time at tea and strolling the Arboretum. I've never had a sister, and she never had a brother, so we're both very glad that we're each part of the other's family now. She and my mother are so much alike it's scary. The Arboretum was very, very beautiful although some of the tulips and azaleas had already lost their bloom, but each of us took away many ideas for our own gardens.

We went by the Farmers Market on the way back so that I could get some marigolds and celosia to plant in the pots and planters out front. She looked at my wildflower garden when we returned home and confirmed that these are actual flowers sprouting and not weeds. I'm so excited! All in all, it was a very good afternoon.

I went to the six o'clock AA meeting (a sex topic meeting which is always very interesting) and then Dan and our friend Tom and I went to Herrera's for dinner. We always have so much fun together. We came back to my place and chatted a bit, and then I went to meet the Adeleine from work, her boyfriend John, and their friend Bill at the Inwood Lounge. I forgot how much I liked that place, and it's my little brother Ross' favorite bar. Adeleine and John wanted to leave early so I agreed to take Bill home.

We left the Lounge and went to Denny's for coffee and dessert. I took him home, we traded numbers, and when we hugged goodnight, we began mugging. He eventually asked if I'd like to stay a while, and I did. I told him that I was HIV+ which seemed to take him aback a bit, but he still wanted me to stay. We got naked and really only kissed and rubbed up against each other, but it was very nice. I got to get a good grab of his big arms and chest which I enjoyed very much.

I came home around 6:30 in time to get ready for breakfast with Ross at Lucky's. He overslept a bit this morning, so I'm on my way now.
