God, I offer myself to Thee to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self that I may better do Thy Will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of Life. May I do Thy Will always.
Oh, that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would always be with me, and that You would keep me from evil.
Thank You for keeping me sober today. Amen.
Joy wants the eternity of all things, wants deep, wants deep eternity. -- Friedrich Nietzsche, Thus Spoke Zarathustra
Yesterday, my little brother Ross and I met for breakfast at Lucky's. He had a very good time in North Carolina with his friends the previous weekend, and he seems to be progressing on his job search. After breakfast, we drove down to the Farmers Market to look for some of the plants that our sister-in-law Jennifer had pointed out at the Arboretum on Friday. Although they had none, the gentleman was very nice and recommended that we look at Nicholson-Hardie on Lovers.
I went to the ten o'clock men's AA meeting where the topic was on the reconstruction of our lives and spriritual gifts. A very, very good meeting. I visited with my new sister Trent afterwards and discovered that he had founded the company at which I worked last year. Several of us went to Mama's Daughter's Diner for breakfast/lunch afterwards, and then David followed me home to check up on his email. After he left, I fiddled around a bit on the computer and considered taking a nap but decided to plant the French (Freedom?) marigolds and feather cockscomb and do some yardwork instead. The sun came out and the afternoon was beautiful if a little muggy. I pulled much of some sort of ivy weed out of the monkey grass and cleaned everything up a bit. The front already looks much better.
I showered and stopped by the 7-Eleven to pick up drinks and ice for Dan's farewell gathering. Claire brought her children, Nathan brought Dan a "Rebellion Dogs" shirt, and we all had such a good relaxing time; however, at about 9:30, the previous night caught up with me and I began to crash. I came home, played on the computer for a few minutes and then headed straight to bed plumb tuckered out.
