God, I offer myself to Thee to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self that I may better do Thy Will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of Life. May I do Thy Will always.

Oh, that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would always be with me, and that You would keep me from evil.

Last night, I began to realize why I had felt so odd all week. After running several errands, I came home and started doing busywork. While doing so, I thought of my sponsor and friend Dan and his impending move to DC this weekend. A flood of memories washed over me and I was overcome by tears. I have experienced the death and loss of friends and family before, and I usually chalk it up to being part of life's cycle. Nevertheless, I began to realize just how much I will miss Dan being part of my everyday living. Many people have passed through my life and most go by taking a little piece of my soul. Dan is one of the few who has only added to my soul, my life, my ability to live and love life. Although I mourn his going away, all my thoughts, wishes, hopes, and dreams are with him in his going to. I am a better man for having known him.
