dad

God, I offer myself to Thee to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self that I may better do Thy Will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of Life. May I do Thy Will always.

Oh, that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would always be with me, and that You would keep me from evil.

Thank You for keeping me sober today. Amen.

What a day yesterday. I met my little brother Ross at Lucky's for breakfast. I finally left my number on the back of my business card with the tip for Patrick our waiter. Who knows if I'll hear from him, but at least I did it. Probably not the most courageous way to do it, but I did it.

I picked up my meds at StatScript and then went by Starbucks to get my Girl Scout cookie in a cup drink, a Caffe Mocha with creme de mint. Mmmm. I came by home to take my meds and brush my teeth and then dropped off my laundry at the cleaners before heading down to Preservation Dallas for my second-Saturday volunteer stint.

Things were kind of quiet down there, but I did have a few visitors. When I left at two o'clock, I went by Oshman's to get Dad a Nike golf shirt for Father's Day and went to Best Buy to get a digital camera for me using mostly store credits and gift cards I had. I went to NUVO to buy Father's Day cards for Dad and Bart and ended up getting Stephanie's wedding gift with store credits I had there, too. I went by the grocery store to restock and got home in time to wrap Dad's present, shower, and dress before Ross came to meet me. I also took a few pictures of my wildflower garden with my new camera.

We drove to Pappasito's Cantina in Fort Worth to meet the fam. Hailee was unable to join us as she was her father's for the next couple of weeks. We had a good dinner and Gracie was wearing one of the little capri pants outfits I gave her for her birthday in April. After dinner, we all headed over to hear the Fort Worth Symphony's Big Band Bash in the Botanic Garden. It was a beautiful night. Even though rain threatened, we didn't feel a single drop, and eventually the clouds moved away. My nephew Brooks spent a lot of time spinning along with swing dancers, and Gracie made many trips a few feet away and back to bring me rocks and pebbles. Ross and I got back to Dallas about eleven o'clock, and I was plumb tuckered out.
