celebration

Lord, make me a channel of thy peace-
that where there is hatred, I may bring love-
that where there is wrong, I may bring the spirit of forgiveness-
that where there is discord, I may bring harmony-
that where there is error, I may bring truth-
that where there is doubt, I may bring faith-
that where there is despair, I may bring hope-
that where there are shadows, I may bring light-
that where there is sadness, I may bring joy.

Lord, grant that I may seek rather
to comfort than to be comforted-
to understand than to be understood-
to love than to be loved.

For it is by self-forgetting that one finds.
It is by forgiving that one is forgiven.
It is by dying that one awakens to Eternal Life.

Thank You for keeping me sober today. Amen.

What a great but busy holiday weekend! On Thursday, I accomplished much of what I had hoped to for Jun-03 close at work. Thursday night Terry, the black business owner/minister/singer/board president/circus clown, had to work on several more proposals so we ended up delaying our dinner plans. I repotted my poor little feathered cockscombs out front, spread the Eptam in the wildflower garden to kill the nutgrass, and got everything watered. Around ten o'clock, I got online and chatted with David on m4m4sex.com. I ended up going over to his place for a little fun, and I must say we had quite a bit of fun. He's very nice but quiet with big arms and legs and chest and a very, very big something else as well. I came back home about one o'clock and slept very well.

I awoke at about quarter until six on Friday morning and picturing him as part of a couple. I think he used to be the partner of someone named Terry I first met through Brent and who served on the TITAS board while I worked there. I emailed and told him all this but never received a response. Anyway, I got some things done and then went up to meet my little brother Ross for breakfast at Lucky's. We had a good time and a few laughs. I finished a load of laundry and some other things including an email encouraging some of my friends and family to consider supporting Howard Dean for President and informing them of the rally next Sunday.

About noon, I dropped by 7-Eleven, picked up some ice, and headed up to IRS guy Jim's pool party and cookout. I really liked the crowd there although it's been a while since I've been around all drinking people. I got plenty of sun and got to know several of the people there and catch up with Jim. Four of us guys and Jim's lesbian friend from Michigan met up at Gloria's so they could have some swirls, then we headed down to the strip. We went first to JR's, then tried to watch the fireworks from the Moby's deck but couldn't really get a good view. At that point our mission changed to getting the lesbian laid while she was in town; however, there were absolutely no other lesbians out that night. We went to Sue Ellen's, to the Round-Up, back to JR's, to TMC -- none. She was trashed by 11:15 so Jim took her home and poured her into bed.

They dropped me off and I got online and chatted with this other guy Dave with whom I had chatted last week. He ended up coming over and spending the night. That was a lot of fun. He is definitely a sexy man. Fortunately or unfortunately, he had done some crystal meth earlier and stayed awake and horny for a very long time. We slept for a couple of hours until about five o'clock, and then he went at it again until after seven. Although he didn't do any drugs in front of me, and I enjoyed being with him very much, I think I'll reconsider the next time somebody says they're into P-n-P (party and play) because I'm very much into S-l-e-e-P.

I made us some coffee, and Dave showered and went off to work. He's a relocation Realtor so he had to show houses that day. I got several things done and then headed up to the Men's AA meeting at ten o'clock where I put up some applications and made an announcement for the jail program. I was so glad to see Ross there, not my little brother but a guy who used to come to our group but had gone back out. He looked ridden hard and put up wet. He asked for my number because he said that I was the only one he recognized from when he was in before. I gladly gave it to him and told him to use it.

Afterwards, I picked up some prescriptions from StatScript and the certified letter from the IRS at the post office. They want the rest of their 2002 tax money within ten days, and I don't have it. I'll have it at the end of the month, but I definitely don't have it now. I hope they'll give me a 30-day extension when I call tomorrow. I tried today but the automated line wouldn't do anything.

I went to the Crate & Barrel Outlet and to Crate & Barrel on Knox to pickup picnic supplies. I love those stores and saw way too many things that I wanted to buy but can't afford. I was supposed to go over to old crush Tom's to lay out by the pool but the weather didn't cooperate. I called him and we decided to defer that until today. Since it was raining, I called Francisco to ask if we could defer the Shakespeare Festival until next Saturday and do something inside last night instead. He agreed, and after a nap and shower, I picked up a pizza and Diet Cokes at Pizza Hut and 7-Eleven and headed over to his place. We had such a pleasant time but were both tired by about eleven. I came home and went straight to bed.

Francisco came with me on my Bryan's House food pickup from the Temple last night. He just wanted to see what I do which I thought was very nice of him. Afterwards, we came by my place for him to see it and my wildflower garden and took my brother's old stereo and my old coffee maker to his place. We hung out for a little while more, and then I took off to run some errands, fold some laundry, finish my Dean campaign work, and eat lunch.

This evening I went up to birthday night and Lambda. I love those now. I used to hate them because they seemed to run so long, but now I really appreciate what everyone has to say and being there for them as they've been there for me. I just got home after having coffee at Starbucks and talking with Tom W. Now it's time to get ready for a new week.

What a blast!
