time
God, I offer myself to Thee to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self that I may better do Thy Will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of Life. May I do Thy Will always.
Oh, that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would always be with me, and that You would keep me from evil.
Thank You for keeping me sober today. Amen.
He that lacks time to mourn, lacks time to mend.
Eternity mourns that. Tis an ill cure
For life’s worst ills, to have no time to feel them.
Where sorrow’s held intrusive and turned out,
There wisdom will not enter, nor true power,
Nor aught that dignifies humanity.
-- Sir Henry Taylor, Philip Van Artevelde
Another Monday. The weekend went by too quickly. Friday was a good day at work. Finished the new Regional Unit Cost report in Access and the new web pages. After work, went by Linens 'N Things and picked up some towels, by Home Depot Expo and picked up some fabric samples for my Aunt Edith's chair, and by Home Depot near me for some spray paint for my art project. Talked to Allen a while that night. He seems to be doing better.
Saturday, went to breakfast with Rossdog at Lucky's, by StatScript to place my refill orders, by the post office to pick up Lambda's mail, by the Farmers Market to pick up some replacement flowers. Then I went to the men's AA meeting where Bill S. led on the topic of what works in relation to our character defects. Afterwards, I met Scott, Jody, Travis, and Billy at Hunky's for some fried zucchini and then went to pick up my prescriptions. I dropped off my laundry at the cleaners and picked up some books at Intergroup for the guys at the jail and headed out the long way to Mom & Dad's house. I had a good time talking to them and borrowed their circular saw for my art project.
Saturday evening, I drove out to Wilmer to pick up Marcus. We discussed the Sixth Step a bit and I dropped him off at his sister-in-law's birthday party while I went to return the fabric samples. I picked him up and we went to the meeting on the Twelfth Step at the Lake Highlands group. I took him back to Wilmer and then headed by the cash machine at the bank and on to the "Get Out of Debt Drag Show" at Lambda. I was so impressed. They are certainly making my job easier as Treasurer. Allen and I talked a while on the phone when I got home, and I fell asleep while talking to him.
Yesterday, I did absolutely nothing productive. I ate, slept, smoke, and played Civilization III. I worked on a floorplan for a house for sale down the street that I like. Talked to Allen but didn't have much to say. Felt like a slug all day.
Now it's Monday already. Gotta get a move on. God help me.
