sanity

God, I offer myself to Thee to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self that I may better do Thy Will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of Life. May I do Thy Will always.

Oh, that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would always be with me, and that You would keep me from evil.

Thank You for keeping me sober today. Amen.

Sanity consists in not being subdued by your means. Fancy prices are paid for position, and for the culture of talent, but to the grand interests, superficial success is of no account. -- Ralph Waldo Emerson, The Conduct of Life

Sanity is a madness put to good uses; waking life is a dream controlled. -- George Santayana, Interpretations of Poetry and Religion

Sanity is the lot of those who are most obtuse, for lucidity destroys one’s equilibrium: it is unhealthy to honestly endure the labors of the mind which incessantly contradict what they have just established. -- Georges, L’Abbé C

We are not cured of alcoholism. What we really have is a daily reprieve contingent on the maintenance of our spiritual condition. Every day is a day when we must carry the vision of God's will into all of our activities. -- Bill W, AA Founder

Sanity is returning. I made it through Day 3 of month-end close and class last night. I got all the Production Units and Sales Units booked yesterday and almost finished calculating all the Intercompany charges yesterday. I'll make a few more changes to my database today, and this process will be much, much simpler in the months to come. Once I have the data, it only takes about 15 seconds to run the program. When I started in June, the whole process took most of one workday.

In Statistics, we're beginning to get to the fun stuff or at least the stuff I wanted to know - chi-squared, ANOVA, regression analysis. This week, I want to try to get up to campus and do my homework over the weekend instead of waiting until the night before class.

My paycheck direct deposits for the past couple of weeks have both hit my bank today and yesterday. My fear of economic insecurity has revisited me many times over the past month or so, but I feel oh so much better when there's money in the bank. Probably an issue of faith in there somewhere that I should look at.

I logged back on to Gay.com for the first time in a long time since meeting Allen. I don't think it's a good time to have a boyfriend right now, but I need to get out and have some fun soon. All work and no play make Kyle a very dull, grumpy, irritable, restless, and discontent boy.

Thank You God for giving me the patience to bear through all this self-inflicted pain and suffering. And thanks Blaise for your words of encouragement. I appreciate it.
