care

God, I offer myself to Thee to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self that I may better do Thy Will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of Life. May I do Thy Will always.

Oh, that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would always be with me, and that You would keep me from evil.

Thank You for keeping me sober today. Amen.

Have a care over my people. You have my people—do you that which I ought to do. They are my people.... See unto them—see unto them, for they are my charge.... I care not for myself; my life is not dear to me. My care is for my people. I pray God, whoever succeedeth me, be as careful of them as I am. -- Elizabeth I, Queen of England

Care keeps his watch in every old man’s eye,
And where care lodges, sleep will never lie;
But where unbruisèd youth with unstuffed brain
Doth couch his limbs, there golden sleep doth reign.

-- William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet, Act 2, Scene 3

...care and labor are as much correlated to human existence as shadow is to light ... -- Harriet Beecher Stowe, Household Papers and Stories

I'm feeling a little better today. I think whatever bug I had is fading. I went to the doctor yesterday and learned that I had lost ten more pounds. I'm at 155 now. I don't know what's causing this, but I hope it levels off. I need to be more conscious of what and how much I eat. I don't want to waste away. Please help me God. I also set up an appointment with the dietician for the end of next month. Perhaps she can help.

I'm going back out to the City of Hurst for half a day today. The people at Miller Brewing Company didn't quite have my computer setup ready for me to start until tomorrow. That'll be good because I want to help get Hurst to at least the end of January, and I'd prefer not to begin a new assignment when feeling sick and foggy.

I've not had any energy or motivation to do anything but the minimum required of me this week, but I was thinking a lot about school. Instead of focusing on the upcoming midterm exam and homework due, I began to focus on why I'm doing this and what I want to learn from it. Hopefully, I can apply myself the next few days and catch up with what I need to learn.

Yesterday, the most exciting thing that happened was dealing with my Realtor and the condo management company in order to allow the Seller's contractor to come in and do the final repairs. Hopefully, that was all taken care of. I'm looking forward to getting moved in. Any remodeling can wait. I want to live with it for a while before deciding exactly what I'm going to do.

I am putting my life and my will in the care of God as I understand Him today. Thank You God.
