resolve
God, I offer myself to Thee to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self that I may better do Thy Will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of Life. May I do Thy Will always.
Oh, that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would always be with me, and that You would keep me from evil.
Thank You for keeping me sober today. Amen.
Resolve not to be poor: whatever you have, spend less. Poverty is a great enemy to human happiness; it certainly destroys liberty, and it makes some virtues impracticable, and others extremely difficult. -- Samuel Johnson, Letter, December 7, 1782, to James Boswell
Resolve to be honest at all events; and if in your own judgment you cannot be an honest lawyer, resolve to be honest without being a lawyer. Choose some other occupation, rather than one in the choosing of which you do, in advance, consent to be a knave. -- Abraham Lincoln, Fragment, notes for a law lecture, July 1, 1850
When a contradiction is impossible to resolve except by a lie, then we know that it is really a door. -- Simone Weil, New York Notebook
What a day yesterday! I awoke at four o'clock to see snowfall and thinking about all the mortgage stuff. I left a message for my mortgage broker and called my Realtor and sponsor to talk about it. In the afternoon, I made an onion cheese fritatta for lunch and gathered all my documents to copy and give to the other lender my Realtor had recommended. My sponsor said that I would intuitively know how to handle a situation that had baffled me, and I did. I just wanted to hear the information, but after talking to the mortgage banker, I decided that it was in my best interest and the interest of the deal to let Shelter Mortage do my financing so I signed the application. Now, I have to inform my former mortgage broker of my decision.
Last night, Dean and I decided to stay in because of the snow. I can't remember the last time I actually had a date on Valentines Day. I picked up a pizza from Pizza Hut and drove over to his place where we cuddle up, ate, kissed, and watched shows like Trading Spaces, Sensible Chic, and Designers Challenge on TV . He is very easy to be with and is almost as excited about my new place as I am.
What a long, exhausting, but great day!
