strides

God, I offer myself to Thee to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self that I may better do Thy Will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of Life. May I do Thy Will always.

Oh, that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would always be with me, and that You would keep me from evil.

Thank You for keeping me sober today. Amen.

He who tip-toes cannot stand; he who strides cannot walk. -- Lao-Tzu, Tao-te-ching

The strides of humanity are slow, they can only be counted in centuries. -- Georg Büchner, Danton’s Death

The history of mankind is the instant between two strides taken by a traveler. -- Franz Kafka, The Third Notebook, October 20, 1917

A very good day yesterday. I awoke early and met Rossdog for breakfast at Lucky's. It was quite cold yesterday morning, and my windshield was iced over. All I could think was in a month, I'll never have to park on the street again. My car will be safe and snug in a parking garage. Hooray! A very handsome young man walked into the restaurant while we were reading our horoscopes with our waiter Patrick. He looked somewhat familiar and then walked over to our booth. He turned out to be Ross' good friend Paul from church with whom he's planning on moving to New York in May. We had a great breakfast and discussed their plans.

Afterwards, I came by home to pick up some stuff and then went to the men's AA meeting which Bill led on the courage to change. I love those meetings. I talked to Todd for a while after the meeting, and we discussed my new condo and my upcoming meeting with an interior designer. When I asked for alternatives, he suggested Brad or Rick. Rick rarely calls me back, but I'll contact Brad to see what he has to say.

I drove out to UTD to complete my class assignment and meet with my study group. It took a while, but I finally finished my assignment although I need to revise it today or tomorrow. I came back home and finished up a few things, ordered a heart-shaped cake for Allen's birthday on Valentine's Day, dressed, and drove over to Tony's for our date. We went to Royal Thai in Old Town for dinner and then down to Loews CityPlace to see Cold Mountain. The movie was great, and I enjoyed holding Tony's hand again. Jude Law looked breathtakingly gorgeous in this film. What a hunk of man! We went back to Tony's place and played and cuddled and slept.

Now it's Sunday with no definite plans. I love Sundays.
