cry

God, I offer myself to Thee to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self that I may better do Thy Will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of Life. May I do Thy Will always.

Oh, that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would always be with me, and that You would keep me from evil.

Thank You for keeping me sober today. Amen.

In every cry of every man,
In every infant’s cry of fear,
In every voice, in every ban,
The mind-forg’d manacles I hear.

-- William Blake, Songs of Experience, “London”

Men cry because things are not what they ought to be. -- Albert Camus, Caligula, Act 1, Scene 11

I cry out for order and find it only in art. -- Helen Hayes, On Reflection

I felt like I was going to cry most of the morning. I have a bad feeling about this assignment. It's like going on board the Titanic after having seen the movie. Trish is training me well, but already the other employees are beginning to drop like flies. I was all set for a relaxing summer, and I'm afraid it's not going to be that way. We'll see.

Trish and I went to Sonny Bryan's BBQ for lunch. I like her, and I can see why she's ready to leave. I'm excited for her and her future at BMC Software. We spent most of the afternoon training on the journal entries required for month-end close, and I felt better by the end of the day.

We both left a little early, and after being stuck in traffic for a while, I went by Whole Foods Market to pick up the ingredients to make Paula Deen's Lip Smackin' Trail Mix. It sure was good, although I'm not sure it's worth the expense of making it when one can buy trail mix already made for much less.

I just watched television and faded off to sleep. Today, I have many things to do on my task list. God, please give me the motivation and courage to accomplish them. Thank You.
