imperfection

God, I offer myself to Thee to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self that I may better do Thy Will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of Life. May I do Thy Will always.

Oh, that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would always be with me, and that You would keep me from evil.

Thank You for keeping me sober today. Amen.

For all of them have contributed out of their abundance; but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on. -- Mark 12:44

Gratitude is a burden upon our imperfect nature, and we are but too willing to ease ourselves of it, or at least to lighten it as much as we can. - Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield, letter, November 7, 1765

Mistakes are almost always of a sacred nature. Never try to correct them. On the contrary: rationalise them, understand them thoroughly. After that, it will be possible for you to sublimate them. -- Salvador Dali, Diary of a Genius, entry for June 30, 1952

It has been so long since I have written. I feel a need to do so again. So much has changed, but I'll get into that later. Today, I am learning to live without doing things perfectly, to live with and deal with my mistakes. After a prosperity workshop at church in January, I began tithing. Since then, I have witnessed this oncoming wash of red ink that finally arrived yesterday. I did not have enough in my bank account to make my mortgage payment. I have faith it will all work out, but in the meantime, I am learning to live with the uncertainty of it all. My sponsor Juana suggested I call Rev. Ed at church. I did, and we discussed it. I need to practice the same attitute in paying my bills that I do in tithing.

Thank you, God. This is an adventure.
